The Junior Medical Technologist in University Dermatology Clinic is responsible for delivery of patient service in the work area in a personalized, specialized and cost-effective way in accordance to established hospital policies, procedures and standard of practices.
The Junior Medical Technologist will cover all phototherapy duties from patient management, assessment, preparation, treatment of patient’s dermatological condition using ultraviolet A or ultraviolet B light, operational processes and documentation of treatment outcomes.
Job Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the following:
- Co-operate with doctors and other health-care providers in smooth delivery of services to patients.
- Demonstrate basic skills and knowledge in the delivery of services to patients.
- Perform Phototherapy procedure.
- Ensure patient’s assessment and treatment outcomes are documented in Epic.
- Demonstrate proper and economical usage of consumables and supplies.
- Ensure that stock level on supplies and consumables are adequately maintained and replenished.
- Maintain and demonstrate proper use and care of equipment.
- Check and calibrate phototherapy machine/equipment to ensure that they are in good working order.
- Track and maintain service maintenance records of equipment.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Attend to patients’ feedback and enquiry, perform service recovery and provide information when appropriate.
- Attend to telephone enquires / feedback and trace results.
- Assist in patients’ appointment making.
- Participate in quality improvement projects.
- Cross-functional role covering within University Dermatology Clinic- perform skin scrape and processing, assist MOH surgery, allergy patch and prick testing
- Any other duties assigned by Reporting Officer. Cross coverage within Dermatology Clinic’s Medical technologists
