Job Description

Responsibilities and Duties 

You will be responsible for the following:

  • Reception of laboratory specimens and understand the specimen requirement and the specimen rejection policies.
  • Operate the Laboratory Information System to perform functions such as order entry, result entry, result collation & certification and result query.
  • Perform moderate to high complexity flow cytometry tests, e.g., absolute cell enumeration and immunophenotyping tests. Perform all procedures in accordance with laboratory protocols.
  • Ensure that critical values are reported to appropriate personnel.
  • Handle enquires from lab users.
  • Perform, record and interpret results of quality control procedures and take corrective action where indicated.
  • Undertake simple preventative maintenance of laboratory instrumentation and perform simple troubleshooting in the event of malfunction.
  • Proper inventories of consumables and reagents
  • Conduct of in-service education and continuing education classes
  • Ensure compliance with all requirements of the Laboratory Safety Manual
  • Able to perform basic laboratory administrative work such as filling, processing of deliveries orders and invoices
  • Participate and contribute to project teams, assist with the lab evaluation as required
