Job Description

Overview of Position

The Radiography Assistant is responsible for performing general patient-related activities in reception, waiting areas and examination rooms, looking into the general welfare of patients. He/she is also responsible for assisting radiographers in transferring patients, image processing and the care of radiographic system and processing units.

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform cleaning of cassettes, imaging plates and equipment.
  • Perform QA on printers and maintain records.
  • Perform simple trouble shooting on equipment (training provided by vendor).
  • Assist in moving of equipment (portable x-ray unit, I.I, ultrasound etc).
  • Assist radiographer in processing of images.
  • Check and ensure patient’s name and ID are correct.
  • Assist radiographer in patient transferring, using proper posture and techniques.
  • Ensure patient’s line and catheter are observed.
  • Participate in continuous medical education and quality assurance programs as directed by supervisor.
  • Assist in film/ image management.
  • Perform other general duties as directed by the radiographer in-charge / radiographer on duty. 
  • Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
