Job Description

A sonographer is responsible for providing high quality ultrasound imaging service to patients in a prompt and professional manner. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities


Primary Responsibilities and Duties (80%)

  • To perform clinical imaging duties in ultrasound. 
  • To assist consultants in ultrasound guided procedures.
  • To oversee the smooth operations of the ultrasound section and ensure proper usage and care of equipment of the section at all times. 
  • To ensure quality assurance programmes are implemented and observed as well as initiate system improvement within the section.
  • To deliver accurate and speedy imaging outputs at all times.
  • To produce desired results effectively within given duration and allocated resources. 
  • To handle difficult situations like patients’ complaints and queries within the department/ section promptly and effectively. 
  • To render prompt and courteous service delivery to external and internal customers. 
  • To ensure efficient patient turnaround time per examination. 
  • To plan, organize and prioritize assigned tasks such that all are completed effectively and on time. 
  • To adhere to safe work practices especially safety and infection control. 

 

Secondary Responsibilities and Duties (20%)

 

  • To maintain and upkeep an ultrasound section to ensure efficient work performance. 
  • To ensure physical environment and ambience of work place adhere to corporate standards. 
  • To prepare and conduct presentations during the Fetal-Maternal monthly meeting.
  • To collate and prepare statistical data of the ultrasound section.
  • To perform any other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor. 
Job Criteria/Requirements
Qualifications:

Diploma

Must-have skills:

Diploma/Degree in Diagnostic Radiography / Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent
